The Outbreak Outhouse

The Covid-19 Pandemic has influenced our lives in profound ways. With the bulk of the panic behind us, we can now take a step back and reflect on what we might have learned from this event. One important thing that has been highlighted by the pandemic events is the importance of preparedness. I am currently working on a project that tests wastewater for presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. This wastewater surveillance offers and early detection system as well as a means to monitor the virus's presence in almost real-time.
